Meditate on This ~ A Horizon, and Bikram HQ NYE Class

1 Jan

Sweating it out on the steeply inclined Temescal Canyon Trail in Topanga State Park, the view at the top is well worth the uphill climb.

In a recent Bikram class, the teacher asked us to close our eyes while we balanced in Tree Pose. Initial attempts proved challenging for me as I wavered from side to side like a tree pushed by the wind. I didn’t realise how much I relied on ‘sight’ to balance; resting the gaze on the horizon gives the eyes a good ‘massage.’

On this first day of 2013, readers, I wish you a Happy New Year! May you thrive in health, happiness, and an abundance of positive energy.

When you look from left to right, the eyes  scan Los Angeles as it stretches from the downtown area, across Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu. All photos taken today.

Thanks so much Adrian. Isn’t that view spectacular? Not the typical way one would picture LA. Happy New Year!

If that was a silent class, I’d be interested to know what a vocal class is like. ;)

mememe – what a good catch! I laughed so much at your comment, and though, “How was that class silent?” Turns out it was a Special class, and I confused it with the Silent class that I must have read about promoted by another studio – Bikram Williamsburg Brooklyn. I’m changing the header and glad you called me out on it!
